We are thrilled to announce that the Yamaha Young Soloist Music Competition (YMC) will be returning in 2025! Entries for this prestigious competition will open on January 10, 2025.
Following the incredible success of YMC 2024, we are excited to share the numerous enhancements and upgrades we have made for the 2025 competition. Our team at Yamaha South Africa has been working diligently behind the scenes to ensure an even better experience for all our young and talented musicians across the country.
Key Improvements for YMC 2025:
- Dedicated YMC Web Page: We have launched a dedicated web page to make navigating the competition easier than ever.
- Seamless Entry Process: The entry process for YMC 2025 is now more streamlined, with easy-to-follow steps on the website, including entry fee payment.
- YMC Facebook Page: Stay updated with the latest information and interact with us through our newly launched YMC Facebook Page.
- Chief Adjudicators for Classical & Jazz: We are pleased to introduce Ms. Christelle Engelbrecht (Classical) and Mr. Justin Bellairs (Jazz) as our dedicated Chief Adjudicators, allowing for better focus on each genre.
- Improved Competition Guidelines: With the help of our Chief Adjudicators, we have refined the competition guidelines while maintaining the original “Heartbeat” and goal of reaching every young musician willing to submit a valid entry and recording.
- Upgraded Mark Sheet: Our new Mark Sheet provides clearer requirements for each category and round of the competition.
- Digital Certificates: To avoid delays, we will issue digital certificates for round one entries, with hard copies available upon request.
